Tatsu was inspired by sculptor Isamu Noguchi and his contemporary perception of traditional Japanese design.
Guests are greeted by a reflecting pond, oversized paper lantern and layers of shoji inspired screens providing a glimpse into the dining spaces.
The restaurant is divided by an island sushi bar surrounded by open dining, a chefs table separates the teppanyaki counter while opposite a glowing sake and wine display leads to a relaxed lounge bar.
There is a juxtaposition of materials through solid slabs of stone and timber, crushed bamboo, refined metal mesh, kimono inspired wall reliefs, blue oriental cushions and suspended sake bottle screens.
