Derived from the name “Equatorial”, the equator line has heavily influenced Malaysia’s arts and crafts in many cultures. Inspired by our local heritage, the Equatorial Kuala Lumpur leverages on the idea of cultural melting pot by refashioning local accents in its interior, in a subtle luxurious manner.
An identity of ‘timeless chic heritage’ is introduced. The ‘Batu Seremban’ or the five stones typically played by children from Gen X and Y are scattered throughout the hotel with different textures – depicting the five elements of the earth. The five stones became one of the prominent oversized sculptures in the hotel.
The ‘heart of the hotel’ stood a tall tower of glowing lantern-like with a layer of monogram mosaics, dominating the high volume lobby as guests enter. The use of double layers creates illusions and dynamism while its refreshing perspective of refashioning heritage creates a welcoming and intriguing memorable experiences for its guests.
